New Blog/Website

Hello...

As always, it's been a while, I have been making a new website/blog you can see it here, I don't think I will be updating this one any more, It has been neglected and there is a lot of stuff on this blog which I don't like. The new blog is going well and has been updated quite a few times already, so why not come over and have a look.

New things.....New Shop

I have created a new Etsy shop. The last time I made one was about 3 or 4 years ago, when I decided to call it 'Brown Paper Bag' don't ask why, because I don't know myself. I deleted the shop, made a new one, with another stupid name and a new email address - deleted that, but then was never able to create a third shop because I ran out of email addresses.

For now I am using my 'day job' email address, which isn't ideal, but it will do for now I guess. I am also just using my name, as I decided this wasn't something I would get bored of.

Here you can see some of my listings, plenty more to come, I am still doing all my shrink, but at the moment you will mainly see this over at Folksy.

I have also 'rebranded' everything with a little pattern and hand drawn name, I hope I don't get bored of that too soon.

Recently I have been obsessing over packaging, and Pinterest (you can follow me here if you like) keeps me entertained for hours, looking at all the fancy bags, envelopes and washi tapes. I have just ordered some new stickers for my packaging and fancy little boxes for my earrings, its all very exciting.

I will hopefully have some exciting news about a new supplier soon, if all goes to plan they will be stocking my shrink designs and they want 6 new designs every six weeks, which is scary, but I am quite excited as it will push me to draw more, which is something I sometimes forget to do, especially with all the excitement of a laser cutter and new stockists.

New things to come...

Hello there, as always its been a while, I haven't really had too much to blog about. I'm hoping to really step up a gear with the making this year though, and since getting a laser cutter towards the end of last year I have been busy changing my designs to suit the new materials I will be using like acrylic and wood...and lots more in the future but I'm keeping it simple to start with.
I will be keeping my most popular designs in shrink, but the majority I will stop selling to make way for some more exciting things.

So far I have only got a few designs finalised, and hoping in the next 2 months to have most of my new range up for sale in my folksy shop, I am also working on re-opening an Etsy shop, a bit of new branding with new packaging and business cards too.

I am over the moon to see some one I admire so much wearing something I have created, I was at a Kate Nash gig at Rough Trade and she said she really liked my necklace so obviously I gave it to her, and since, she has tweeted a photo of her wearing it, and she even tweeted a link to my shop. Amazing!

This week I am in not one, but two magazines - and I am very excited about it. You can find my step by step guide on how to make a typewriter brooch in this months issue of Mollie Makes and you can read my interview in Craftseller which in in shops today!

Busy busy...

Hello, As always, it's been a while, but I have been very busy... Did I mention....

I have been making lots of nice things for a very special wedding day, I made all the table names, name places, the table plan (which i forgot to take a photo of..) and before the big day I made the invitations.

Not only that, but I was featured on Folksy in the 'meet the maker' section, click on the link to read my interview... this made for a very busy shop indeed.

I was then featured on creative boom on the inspiration page... as well as in the Folksy email along with Debbie from the imagination of lady snail, and talking of Debbie I will be sharing a space with her at the Renegade London Craft fair on 15th and 16th September, so if you are near Brick Lane next weekend, be sure to come and say hello.

New Packaging

I have tried a variety of ways of displaying and packaging my items, My brooches have always just been lay out on tables at craft fairs, and my earrings started out on pieces of card i cut out and measured individually, then bought a rectangular punch, these all just on white card, so I thought it was time they looked a little more professional, here is my attempt at this.

Weddings

Hello, I am back with some new designs, some wedding invitations, here is a little look at one of my designs and these will soon be up on my Folksy page where you will be able to buy a sample, and if you like it I can customise them with your guests names, and all your wedding information. These can be made in batches of any size and are suitable for anyone as I can change the card and envelopes to suit all budgets. There are also matching Save the dates, RSVPs and name cards too. I hope you like them.

Reetsweet

Reetsweet craft fair at the corn exchange in Leeds is happening this weekend - All weekend. But sadly Saturday will be my last time at the fair as I am moving out of Leeds. So come and see me one last time :)

I know I have probably over used this image but it was one of the images I chose to screen print on day 2 of my screen printing course.. It was quite hard work as we worked in pairs on a huge screen - and using a giant squeegee - next week I am hoping for better results as I will be working on my own screen.

I've been away

I have just got back from being in Berlin for a few days - and it was just the break i needed - although there wasn't a moment of relaxation, (we did over 10 hours of walking on one day -and my find won't let me forget).

I have created a tumblr page, and in between that and finding a new job before i'm made redundant - i hope to keep this blog updated much more often.. Stick around.
